New Work:

"Evening at Lobsterville",
oil on canvas, 20 x 30 inches
|
A fine sporting art portrait is more than an accurate
presentation of a person and his activity. A fine painting conveys a
feeling of space and light, of intensity and sensitivity to the sport. |

| For 30 years Peter has had the privilege
and pleasure of recording the sporting life, the people who pursue it and
the places they love. The majority of his paintings are commissioned
sporting portraits of the field sports - hunting and fishing. His
work also covers equine sports, landscapes and informal portraits. He
paints from his own photographs and travels to wherever he needs to
get them. Peter is as unobtrusive as possible in recording the elements
of the painting. |

| The person need not be the primary focus
of the painting. For many people the landscape is as important as
their prowess at the sport. For Peter, the mood of the painting is
the most important aspect of a portrait. |

Sporting Portrait Commissions begin at
$20,000 in a standard size of 20 x 30 inches. Prices are based on
complexity of scene and size of canvas. An estimate will be given
upon initial consultation. After the photography is complete Peter
does a preliminary drawing. This is sent for approval and final
determination as to size and cost of the painting.
Current commissions are running 8 to 10
months from the point of photography.
The paintings on this page are samples of
Peter's commissions. For our full commission catalogue please
